I was hired by the GrowDoc app team, after getting funded by the government of Canada to do a full launch of their product. I was responsible for creating the UI/UX of the the product from scratch. From research, brand identity, design system, prototyping and testing to social media campaigns, motion GFX ads and marketing campaigns. I was involved in every tiny detail.

My Approach

Building a Strong Brand Identity

The first step in my work with GrowDoc was to establish a compelling brand identity that would resonate with their target audience—cannabis growers and enthusiasts. I created a visual language that balanced professionalism with approachability, using clean, modern design elements that communicated trust and innovation. This included logo design, typography, color schemes, and imagery that reflected GrowDoc’s mission to simplify plant care through AI technology.

Crafting a Social Media Campaign

To engage GrowDoc’s community, I developed a comprehensive social media strategy. I focused on creating content that educated users about the app's benefits while fostering a sense of community. The campaign included informative posts, user testimonials, and interactive content such as tips for plant care, all tailored to the interests of GrowDoc’s audience. My goal was to increase awareness and drive engagement through visually appealing and informative posts across various platforms.

Designing the UI/UX for App and Website

A key component of the project was designing an intuitive and user-friendly UI/UX for both the mobile app and website. I prioritized simplicity and ease of use, ensuring that the app’s functionality—such as detecting plant deficiencies and diseases through the camera—was easy to navigate. I worked closely with the development team to create wireframes, prototypes, and final designs that were visually cohesive across platforms, while keeping the user experience seamless and efficient.

Leading Design Decisions and Strategy

As the lead designer on the project, I was responsible for making critical design decisions that aligned with GrowDoc's business goals and user needs. This required balancing creative vision with practicality, ensuring that each design choice enhanced the user experience while supporting the app’s functionality. I collaborated closely with both the product and development teams to define design priorities, streamline workflows, and guide the overall direction of the app’s visual and functional aspects.

Continuous Brand and Product Evolution

With the initial brand identity, social media campaign, and UI/UX in place, I remained involved in ongoing product development and brand evolution. As GrowDoc grew, I continued refining their visual language and digital experience, ensuring that their brand stayed relevant and engaging while supporting their expanding user base.
